Maroon 5 Rilis Single Terbaru ''Memories'', Ditujukan untuk Siapa Pun yang Pernah Merasa Kehilangan

Single terbaru Maroon 5 berjudul Memories dan dirilis pada Jumat (20/9/2019) pagi.

Mengutip laman globalnews.ca, lagu Memories kali ini merupakan single standalone.

Memories juga menjadi single baru Maroon 5 yang pertama sejak lagu hitsnya Girls Like You yang rilis pada 2018 dan berkolaborasi dengan Cardi B.

Lagu Memories ditulis oleh sang vokalis Maroon 5 sendiri, Adam Levine, bersama Michael Pollack, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Jonathan Bellion, Vincent Ford, Stefan Johnson, dan Jordan Johnson.

Video klip audio Memories telah diunggah di kanal YouTube Maroon 5 pada Jumat, 20 September 2019.

Hingga artikel ini ditulis pada Rabu (25/9/2019), video klip audio Memories telah dilihat 2.861.811 kali.

Melalui akun Twitter resminya, Adam Levine mengungkapkan bahwa lagu Memories ditujukan bagi siapa pun yang pernah mengalami kehilangan.

Dengan kata lain, lagu ini ditujukan bagi kita semua.

"This song is for anyone who has ever experienced loss. In other words, this song is for all of us."

Mengutip laman cbc.ca, Rolling Stone menggambarkan lagu terbaru Maroon 5, Memories sebagai "track yang sentimental, reflektif" yang "mengingatkan masa-masa indah bersama seseorang yang tak lagi ada."

Selain itu, suara Adam Levine yang menyanyikan Memories juga terdengar begitu ekspresif, sehingga lagu Memories terdengar catchy.

Meski begitu, progresi chord lagu Memories terinspirasi atau sebagian berasal dari musik klasik Canon in D Mayor karya Johann Pachelbel.

Musik klasik Canon in D Major memang sudah begitu populer di seluruh dunia karena digunakan dalam upacara pernikahan dan iklan-iklan di TV.

Maroon 5 meminjam progresi delapan-chord Pachelbel Canon (I-V-vi-iii-IV-I-IV-V) dalam kunci B mayor.
